For the last seven years she has been painting full-time. Noelle is interested in creating an enveloping atmosphere in her paintings and finds that working with unique substrata, such as tar paper, enables this effect. Artist Statement
This series of paintings aims to create an enveloping atmosphere. I want to evoke what T.S. Eliot called "the still point of the turning world” - to capture the unexpected sense of contentment that overtakes us in boundless, sky-filled settings. Working on tar paper with acrylic paint allows me to float layers of color that kindle elusive but potent memories.
